We sold our house in Ivybridge with Portia and Danielle, and we were very pleased with them. They gave a really personal service and made a greater effort than the big chain agents. The description they came up with for our house was not full of the usual tired old clichés, but instead gave a really good description of the features of the house, both the obvious and the not-so-obvious. We have moved house many times, and used both the large nationwide chains and the no-frills online-only firms, and if we move again, we will go with Modern Move. The extra effort they put in makes them well worth it.
I first viewed the house at the end of February 2020. Visited again two days later and agreed to buy. Although it was a 'no chain cash sale', which was good, by the time lockdown had begun, it was a worry as to whether the sale could still go ahead. Yes, they said, no problem, we can do it. And they did. Modern Move were brilliant, quick response to queries and replies which certainly reduced the stress factor. Modern Move were the new girls in town when we let them know in December that "in the Spring" our house would be for sale. We were impressed by their listening ability and enthusiasm. As it happened, they had indeed listened carefully both to us and then later to the potential buyer who strolled into the office one day in February. Within days, the house was sold, even before active online listing could be developed. Their professionalism and availability were useful both to us and our buyer, who was at times uncertain about the process. As a seller, one sometimes loses sight of the work involved in nurturing the buyers. All went smoothly and quickly and 7 weeks later the deed was done.
